My Recommendations
Alor Corner Curry Noodle Stall
A favourite among locals, this stall offers chicken noodles, prawn noodles, dry noodles, meatball and fishball soups. The star of the show here is the curry noodles. Expect rich, flavourful broths simmered with aromatic spices and coconut milk, a classic Malaysian curry noodle experience. It features springy noodles, chicken, tau fu pok and fresh cockles.
Price Range: RM10 to RM25
Operating Hours: Thursday – Tuesday 10am – 4pm
Pin Chen Hainanese Chicken Rice
Famous for their free-range chicken boasting flavourful, firm flesh under smooth, bright yellow skin. The rice isn’t overpowering, offering a subtle ginger and oil aroma that perfectly complements the chicken. Don’t forget the sauces: fragrant ginger sauce and spicy chilli sauce. They have braised duck and pork dishes, bean sprouts, fish and pork ball soups.
Price Range: RM10 to RM25
Operating Hours: Thursday – Tuesday 10am – 4pm
Uncle Lim
Definitely one of the best authentic Hakka food stalls in Kuala Lumpur. Although the signature is the Pan Mee, I wholeheartedly recommend you try their other dishes as well. The broths are really the highlight here, bursting with umami and many fresh ingredients.
Price Range: RM20 to RM40
Operating Hours: Monday – Saturday 7am – 4pm
Sister Drunken Chicken Noodle
Sister Drunken Chicken Noodle‘s signature dish lives up to its name. Rice wine infuses the broth for a sweet depth, while generous portions of chicken, fried egg, ginger and unique additions like wood ear fungus make it a flavourful adventure. Though some find it pricier for hawker fare, many return for the comforting warmth.
Price Range: RM20 to RM40
Operating Hours: Wednesday – Monday 7am – 4pm
Nasi Lemak Alor Corner
Nasi Lemak Alor Corner is a family run business (currently 2nd generation) that’s been around since 1980. They serve authentic Nasi Lemak with over 20 side dishes that are prepared fresh daily. Make sure to try their Ayam Rendang Padang, Sambal Sotong, Daging Dendeng and Paru Berlada. They have many local desserts and pastries too!
Price Range: RM5 to RM30
Operating Hours: Tuesday – Sunday 8am – 11.30am
